We live in the rural desert near Tucson. Believe me, we go through the tubes here, what with the thirty or so species of cacti that grow wild on our property. These heavier tubes have slowed the frequency of flat repair, but not stopped it. So I'd say that they do resist puncture. Also, they add noticeable weight to each wheel. They're worth the little extra they cost, though. And for our "garden" chairs that spend most their time in the dirt, I put that green tire slime in. The combo works great.
